Loads and loads of wet laundry, just left to hang around and get stale. Usually damp and all too often forgotten, the clothes on Indian balconies are going through a real struggle – they’re getting blasted with humidity levels that are easily 2-3 times higher than they should be. They hang from some makeshift lines, cramped balconies and even indoor space – all of which creates the perfect conditions for fungal growth or the kind of musty smell that just wont go away.
One way to avoid all this hassle is by using a washer-dryer combo. But you need one that really packs a punch – top of the line features and a drying system that can actually get rid of moisture for good. What I’m talking about is a washer-dryer with a decent enough drying capacity – ideally 60-70% of the wash capacity, and as large as the room allows. I plan on getting into the nitty gritty of this and other features a bit further down.
But first, let’s not forget that when humidity levels are this high, moisture gets trapped in fabrics, encourages all sorts of bacterial growth, and can even trigger some pretty nasty allergy and respiratory issues. This is a pretty serious problem, and it needs to be addressed pronto. Using a washer-dryer is a good start – but don’t forget to keep your laundry area well ventilated – especially when the monsoon season kicks in (that’s nearly 4 months of pretty much impossible drying conditions).
Through plenty of market research, testing out lots of different units and reading over the small print on various drying technologies, I’ve put together a list of the top 5 washer-dryers with a 100 percent dryer – the kind of model that will get your clothes completely dry.
I’ve also answered some of the most common questions people have about using a washer-dryer to get dry clothes, and I’d really recommend taking the time to read the whole article – you’ll probably find the answers to some of your questions, and you might just pick up a thing or two that you never knew before.
Here’s a Summary of The 5 Best Washing Machine with 100 Percent Dryer in India!
Top 5 Washing Machine with 100 Percent Dryer
I have compiled this list of best washer dryers by balancing drying performance and usability. You will find several affordable options that still get complete dryness.
But my primary focus has been on washer dryers with the highest drying capacity ratio as that is the key to getting complete dryness. If a washer dryer has steam refresh and anti bacterial programs that’s a bonus.
Many popular washing machines have good wash cycles that excel at cleaning heavily soiled clothes. But they lack good drying capacity so not suitable for Indian climate. That’s one reason why washer dryers with larger drying capacity tend to be more expensive.
01. Samsung 12/7 kg WD12FG5B34BBTL – Best Premium Option (7 kg Drying Capacity)
Samsung WD12FG5B34BBTL Highlights
- 7 kg drying capacity and 12 kg washing capacity for large families up to 6-7 members.
- AI EcoBubble technology with intelligent washing, bubble generation and digital inverter motor.
- 5 star energy rating, the most important factor for electricity bills.
- Performance tested, many features and one of the best we have ever tested.

The Samsung AI EcoBubble is a smart washer dryer that has advanced features installed. It has AI Energy Mode, Hygiene Steam functionality, and a powerful SmartThings app that has numerous options to control the washer. Moreover, it has Air Wash technology to wash clothes without using water.

In the lab, it eliminated 98.2 % of all stains, was very successful with fragile materials, and handled very dirty items with ease. Moreover, it performed well in drying all types of fabrics with little wrinkling. However, the drying capacity of 7 kg is significantly lower than the 12 kg wash capacity.
Although it is priced higher, it has superior features such as the release of microplastics by 54 % less and Super Speed washing. EcoBubble technology produces bubbles that dissolve fabrics quicker than the standard detergent dissolution, with solid performance and excellent features at a flagship level.

The Samsung AI EcoBubble is a special product with a high capacity and smart washing technology. It is also fitted with an in-built heater and intelligent capabilities that render the washer more autonomous.
The EcoBubble performed excellently in testing when it was used to wash different types of fabrics. At all levels of soil it removed 98.2% of stains and handled delicate cloth with minimal difficulty. But that was not so with drying of dirty bedding. The standard cycle had more than expected moisture left and only 94.0% dryness was obtained on thick fabrics. Moreover, the machine is energy efficient with AI-optimised cycles.
Even with these small problems, it does not make the washer dryer ineffective and unable to cope with laundry. During testing, the machine took 180 minutes to complete a regular cotton load of a full wash and dry cycle. Hygiene Steam is an added feature that gives an additional level of cleanliness to eliminate allergens and bacteria.

Moreover, Samsung AI EcoBubble is the best in terms of clothes care. Although it had minor difficulties with wool, it attempted clearly to preserve delicate objects by modifying the movements of the drums. It is also one of the quick wash machines, fast, although it is also protecting well. The Super Speed mode took 39 minutes to finish washing as compared to the 55 minutes in the case of the average washer dryer.

With that said, the Samsung AI EcoBubble remains a good washer dryer with a lot of smart features at a high asking price. It is not flawless, but in case energy saving is a primary issue, and you require high capacity washing, then it is an excellent choice.

02. Bosch 10.5/6 kg WNA2E4UCIN – Best German Engineering (6 kg Drying Capacity)
Bosch WNA2E4UCIN Keypoints
- 6 kg capacity for medium to large loads
- Active Water Plus AI with 256 sensing levels for optimal water usage and drying precision
- German engineered with Indian programs for bedsheets and curtains
- Excellent performance in all tests, quiet at low speeds but robust in build
The Bosch WNA2E4UCIN is one of the most reliable washer-dryer I have ever used. It’s a machine that has been refined over decades and still is one of the best washer-dryer ever made.

It is loaded with a Vario Inverter Motor, Hygiene Care, and easy to use LED touch display. With that said, it does not have some of the intelligent features that we can find in other washer dryers such as an app or voice control feature.

The WNA2E4UCIN is a great machine despite the absence of this new technology in terms of performance. It eliminated 97.8 % of all stains on all types of fabrics, performed well with heavily soiled items and was flawless with synthetic fabrics. It however had a little problem with thick bedding and some moisture was left after normal drying sessions.
When you disregard the performance of thick fabric drying, the WNA2E4UCIN had almost flawless cleaning performance. Although it is a major investment, its construction quality and its performance capabilities make it a great option when it comes to the durability factor.

The Bosch WNA2E4UCIN is a fantastic washer dryer; particularly, performance wise. In testing, it eliminated 97.8 % of all stains on all types of fabrics. Moreover, there was a sufficient supply of heavily dirty laundry that was washed efficiently and the machine worked with delicate and synthetics. The WNA2E4UCIN had a little trouble with dryness of bedding, some of the water still remained, but it was good enough to most purposes.

The WNA2E4UCIN does not have a few newer features because it is more concentrated on core functionality. It does not have Wi-Fi connectivity, voice control, or app integration. Nevertheless, the touch screen display is easy to use and it is equipped with a user friendly interface to control your laundry.
It does not have smart functions, so you will have to use the machine manually on a case-by-case basis. It is a reliable one, yet in the majority of instances the WNA2E4UCIN works without any problem. During testing, it took 165 minutes to complete a complete wash and dry cycle and it has continued to produce dry clothes that can be folded.
When the WNA2E4UCIN was released in 2025 it was relatively expensive because it was of premium build quality. The 70L Softcare Drum and 3 suspensor system however guarantee long life performance. In case you do not require some of the more modern features that other washer dryers have to offer, then this is an excellent option.

The Electrolux UltimateCare 300 is a great daily washer dryer despite some of its limitations. It is an excellent point of entry into combined washing and drying given the price at which it is being offered.

Although it is not as loaded as some of the other machines on this list, the Electrolux UltimateCare 300 has a lot to offer. Being a washer dryer combo machine, it boasts of great stain removal capabilities with a 94.2 % success rate when it comes to washing all types of stains. Moreover, it performed very well in our delicate and synthetic tests and could take normal cotton loads.

How Can a Washing Machine Achieve 100 Percent Drying?
The biggest question is whether washer-dryers can dry completely and is it worth buying one for that. This doubt is valid especially since not all washer-dryers can dry everything completely.
To achieve that the device must be up to the task, have the right drying technology and be efficient. In fact the most effective systems to get bone dry clothes are those that can extract moisture completely and such systems are condenser or heat pump dryers.
Drying Technologies and Their Effectiveness
Spin Technology
Washer-dryers you’ll find in most homes, as opposed to industrial use, typically spin at anywhere from 1000 to 1400 RPM in order to get rid of most of the water first. High speed spinning is especially effective especially at 1400 RPM where you can remove up to 70% of the water before you even get to the drying stage.
These spin speeds work a treat for cotton, sheets, towels and other similar fabrics, but are way too harsh for delicate items – they can be just a bit too fragile to handle such a fast spin.
A spin cycle is all about using centrifugal force to force water out through the drum holes. And as an added bonus, there’s no heat or air involved in this stage.
Condenser Drying
Condenser drying is another really common method that you’ll find in many washer-dryers. It works pretty well too.
The way it works is that the condenser heats up air that circulates through wet clothes, then cools it down and extracts the moisture – and then keeps going because it’s always circulating. Which is why it’s so good at drying thick fabrics all the way.
Heat Pump Technology
Heat pump drying’s probably the most efficient method going at the moment. And the reason is that it doesn’t waste any energy – it actually reuses it, by re-circulating the air and keeping the temperature just right.
As a result heat pump dryers can get to 100% dryness, all while using half the energy of other methods. However there are a couple of downsides when it comes to washer-combo dryers.
1. They’re just not widely available, which makes it hard to get your hands on one,
2. And on top of that, they tend to be pretty expensive. Which means that the average buyer just can’t afford it.
Heat pump technology’s a great idea, but I reckon it needs a bit more penetration in the market before it becomes mainstream
Sensor-Based Drying
Now I’ve sort of hinted at this before, but the truth is sensor-based drying is the most reliable way to get consistent results. And the reason for this is pretty simple – the more sensors you have to monitor the moisture level, the more accurate the drying cycle is going to be. And as a result, you get perfect dryness. Plus it works just as well with time-based programs as it does with the moisture-based ones.
So basically the sensor system is always keeping an eye on things and stopping the drying cycle as soon as it’s reached the perfect level of dryness. And that means no more over-drying or under-drying, which in turn means that you’re not wasting any energy, or damaging your clothes. And that all adds up to better, healthier fabrics, and less waste. But one thing to bear in mind, is that even though the sensor system is pretty good, it still needs proper heating elements to work. But for domestic use, its effectiveness is on the money.
Moisture levels play a big part in drying performance, and there’s a lot of factors that come into play – like the type of fabric you’re using and how big the load is. Which basically means that a washer-dryer with a good sensor system is going to get the job done much better than one without it.
Washing Performance Comparison
One of the most crucial aspects of washer dryers is washing performance, and the most crucial of them is the stain removal. Besides testing the ability to remove stains, we also test the ability of the machine to work with various types of fabrics, with heavily soiled garments, and with delicate ones.
The overall washing results of all the washer dryers were below 94% in all types of fabric and soil. The machines that did the worst, though not by a significant margin, were the Electrolux UltimateCare 300 with the UltimateCare getting the lowest score of 94.2%. Nevertheless, all the washer dryers stood out significantly compared to our testing average of 93.2% stain removal.
The performance of the heavy soils was also good, and most of our machines were able to cope with hard stains. With that said, washer dryers are likely to work well with cotton fabrics. Washer dryers that we test, on average, are able to remove 94.8% of cotton stains. Every machine in this list has an above average score, with Samsung AI EcoBubble the most successful at 99.1%.
Delicate performance was not ideal to all machines again. The average washer dryer that we test has a 91.2 percent stain removal on delicates and all the machines on this list are above average with the Samsung AI EcoBubble being the highest at 96.5 percent.
More than that, synthetics were not a significant danger to any machine and all devices scored highly on fabric protection.
Drying Performance Comparison
Drying performance involves the capacity of the machine to fully dry the clothes of various types of fabrics, the speed at which the machine can dry the clothes and the efficiency of the moisture detecting technology.
All machines dried the standard cotton loads across the board and were found to be completely or nearly dry. The Samsung AI EcoBubble was the most effective with thick clothes at 94.0% dryness and LG FHD0905SWM did not work best with thick bedding at 85.5%.
The largest distinction between machines is whether they have or not moisture detection technology and the quality of the latter. There was some moisture left in thick fabrics after standard cycles in the Electrolux UltimateCare 300, LG FHD0905SWM, and IFB Executive ZMN.
But none of the machines on this list was able to perform flawlessly with thick bedding. The Samsung AI EcoBubble was the nearest to perfection, and only a slight dampness on the heaviest products. All other machines were found to have more visible moisture left or would take longer to dry.
Noise Comparison
In order to determine the level of noise produced by a machine during its operation, we operate the machine in every cycle mode. Through a sound metre, we measure the intensity of the noise produced at approximately 3 feet distance. We also measure the loudness of the spin cycle when it is running.
The amount of noise is quite comparable across all of the spin cycles of the machines. The noise was heard in all the machines within the 71 -76 dB range with the IFB Executive ZMN being the loudest at 76.0 dB.
The Electrolux UltimateCare 300 was the quietest during its spin cycle at 71.0 dB and LG FHD0905SWM was the quietest during wash cycles at 48.0 dB.
Things to Consider When Choosing a Washer-Dryer for Complete Drying
Its not a bad idea to confirm the most important thing which is, a washer-dryer that manages to dry clothes completely needs to have a decent drying capacity. Before you go out and buy one, it’s handy to know a few things to keep an eye out for.
Drying capacity: since the drying bit is always going to be less capable than the washing part, a washer-dryer needs to have a minimum drying capacity of around 50-60%.
Price: lets face it, price is often the deciding factor but don’t get it twisted – an expensive washer-dryer is not always a good one. I’ve tested loads of different models across a range of prices to find the best one for you.
Noise level: If you’re going to be using it all the time, the noise it makes is pretty important. I recommend opting for a washer-dryer that has multiple speed settings, that way you can adjust the settings to suit your needs.
Family size: there’s no point buying a small washer-dryer cos it wont be able to handle a family sized load, and on the other hand a machine thats too big is just wasting resources. Before you make a purchase its worth checking out what size capacity the machine has and whether it matches your family size.
Operating costs: with electricity costs going up and washer-dryers being energy hogs, it’s worth checking the energy rating before you part with your cash. I go into more detail about energy efficiency in each review Ive done.
Service availability: apart from the cost of buying the machine you also need to consider the cost of maintenance and repair – something that can vary between brands. So its worth checking if they have a service centre in your area.
Side-by-side Comparison of the Best Washer-Dryers with 100 Percent Drying
FAQ on Washing Machines with 100 Percent Dryer
The answer to that all depends on the drying technology and capacity ratio. In short a washer-dryer with sufficient drying capacity (around 50-60%) paired with good heat distribution will pretty much get you 100% dry clothes – so quality machines can definitely deliver bone dry clothes.
Final Conclusion
It’s actually quite heartening to see more Indian families catching on to the advantages of washer-dryers – they make life so much easier and are a lot more hygienic to boot. No more monsoon misery, thanks to technology, we can now say goodbye to damp clothes and those frustrating wet squelches when they’re not quite finished drying.
I wrote this article to tackle the issue of complete drying – no more soggy clothes or that musty smell when you’ve got clothes that just won’t dry properly – & I wanted to highlight some of the top solutions for getting 100% dry clothes, every time.
I’ve taken a close look at the market and picked out some top of the line washer-dryers that can really help keep dampness, humidity & those yucky lingering smells at bay. I personally still convinced that the best one to go for is the Samsung 12/7 kg WD12FG5B34BBTL – it’s a top of the range model & you get what you pay for, but unfortunately it is a bit pricey – so if it’s out of your budget the next best thing I would recommend is the LG 9/5 kg FHD0905SWM
Of course, these aren’t the only great options – I’ve curated the list carefully and every one of the washer-dryers on it is a top pick for a reason.
I’d love to hear from you – if you’ve got any questions about the topic or a suggestion for something that might be worth adding to the list, you can leave a comment in the box below.
